Welcome Future Students!

Thanks for checking out the School of Arts and Sciences, the center of undergraduate education at Rutgers University–New Brunswick.

Each year about 4,000 high-school graduates like Maureen Doss (above) join the incoming class in Arts and Sciences.

Drawn by the cultural diversity of the Rutgers student body, Maureen knew that as an Arts and Sciences student she would be encouraged to embrace intellectual exploration and experimentation across disciplines: to see college as a time to figure out not just what she wants to be, but who she is and wants to be.

Like Maureen, you will build lifelong friendships as you get to know faculty and your fellow students in learning communities, living communities, small seminars, departmental organizations, and over 400 student-run clubs.

With opportunities to take Byrne Seminars and Signature Courses with other first year students, you'll begin to explore the depth and range of a arts and sciences education as you explore the Contemporary Challenges and learning goals of our revolutionary Core Curriculum.

As you continue your education in Arts and Sciences, you'll be able to choose majors, minors, and electives from over 40 disciplines as well as have opportunities to work closely with faculty on significant research and to study and participate in service learning programs in over 40 countries.

Check out the rest of the information for future students on our website and plan your first visit today!
