Welcome to the Rutgers University School of Arts and Sciences!
Our school reflects a tradition of excellence in the liberal arts that goes back to the very founding of Rutgers.
Today, we are the largest and most comprehensive school at Rutgers University–New Brunswick, a place of great scope and vision where students can discover their calling and build the foundation for successful lives, satisfying careers, and engaged citizenship.
At “Arts and Sciences,” as we like to call ourselves, students choose from more than 100 majors and minors, work one-on-one with world renowned faculty, and pursue many public service and leadership opportunities.
All of these amazing experiences take place within a vibrant, supportive, and richly diverse community.
Our graduates leave here well equipped for the challenges of the 21st century, often becoming the influential voices, trailblazers, and thought leaders in their chosen fields and communities.
I invite you to peruse our strategic plan, Excellence, Opportunity, Leadership, to get an in-depth understanding of our values and vision, and learn about the amazing things that happen here every day.
We’re a community united in our belief that a strong arts and sciences program is essential for the university and for the social, economic, and intellectual wellbeing of our world.
