My senior year included a lot of sleepless nights. But I am receiving my degree as scheduled. Now, I want to inspire my son and ignite his wildest dreams.
I was a junior at Rutgers when I found out that my husband and I were expecting. I was so thrilled, yet so anxious as to how it would affect my last two years of school. Luckily, all of my professors cooperated with my November due date and I was able to finish the fall semester. If it weren’t for my professors being so helpful and caring, I don’t know how I could have completed the term. As for my spring semester, I received tremendous help from my mom and husband. They helped take care of the baby while I was in class, studying in the library, and taking exams.
My senior year included a lot of sleepless nights. But tough times never last too long. I am receiving my degree as scheduled.
Before getting pregnant, I think I was pursuing my degree as a way to prove something to myself. But this past year, I was mostly motivated by my son.
Now, I want to inspire him and ignite his wildest dreams. I want him to see what he can do if he puts forth the effort. This degree will grant me the stability to make sure I give him more than I had growing up. He is my motivation.
