Jim Masschaele served as Executive Vice Dean from 2012-2022, when he became Interim Executive Dean on July 1. He returned to his role as Executive Vice Dean on July 1, 2023. Jim is currently serving as the Interim Dean of Humanities.
A Professor of History, he is an accomplished scholar of medieval history with extensive leadership experience. He served six years as director of the Medieval Studies Program, three as undergraduate vice chair of the History Department, and three as department chair.
