Bridging the social sciences and humanities, the interdisciplinary field of Africana Studies examines the politics, perspectives, and cultures of African-American, African, and Caribbean peoples. Africana Studies recently celebrated the 40th Anniversary of its founding at Rutgers University. We hope you will support our intellectual mission as we enter the next phase of our growth and development.

We invite you to make a gift to the Africana Studies Gift Fund and make a difference to Rutgers' Africana Studies students and faculty which will benefit the following initiatives

  • Paul Robeson Scholars Program
  • Distinguished Lecture Series
  • Study Abroad Programs
  • Scholarships for Africana Studies majors
  • Internship support
  • Distinguished Visiting Professorships
  • Technology enhancement
  • Graduate programs
  • Teaching awards
