About the Creative Works Project
The Creative Works Project is a collaboration between SAS and the Office of Research Commercialization (ORC) that is designed to provide a robust framework for assessing, developing, and commercializing educational and research-based products (e.g., software, media). The goal of the program is to promote innovation and foster entrepreneurship throughout SAS.
Opportunities for commercialization may exist across a broad range of categories including:
- E-learning tools
- Films and digital media
- Artistic works (e.g., books, poems, sculptures)
- Musical scores
The Creative Works team consists of University staff with expertise in licensing, grant development, intellectual property rights, project management, and business plan development, as well as a growing body of external advisors from industry. The role of this team is to evaluate project proposals and, where appropriate, work to bring products to market.
