A member of the History Department since 1993, Matt Matsuda teaches and researches Modern European and Asia and Pacific comparative questions. His most recent books include Empire of Love: Histories of France and the Pacific, and a forthcoming survey of Oceanic civilizations. Since 2007, he has been the College Avenue Campus Dean. As Dean of the Honors Program, he is responsible for overseeing interdisciplinary Honors seminars, colloquia, theses, co-curricular initiatives, advising, professional development, and special research and residential opportunities for high-achieving students.
