Marketing Award Program


 

Pope house interiorBased in the Department of Art History, the Cultural Heritage and Preservation StudiesMaster’s Degree provides a unique opportunity to study heritage preservation within local, national, and global contexts. Dr. Archer St. Clair Harvey is using this Marketing Award to raise awareness about the program nationally to expand its applicant pool. Marketing activities supported by this grant include convening a focus group of current students to discuss their path to the program, outreach to regional undergraduate programs that could serve as feeder programs, and a variety of digital and print advertising initiatives.

 

The Rutgers Classics Post-Ba2ccalaureate Program, under the direction of Dr. Serena Connolly, brings a number of significant benefits to Rutgers Department of Classics and to the University: an additional revenue stream; increased enrollment in their undergraduate language courses; and an additional resource to the New Jersey teacher community that will further raise the profile of SAS within the state. Marketing activities supported by this grant include creation of a program web site, print materials, and print advertising in relevant journals.

 

The Department of Philosophy has used a Marketing Award to promote its Master’s Degree in Legal Philosophy. This program, under the direction of Dr. Douglas Husak, draws on the University’s strengths in legal philosophy in New Brunswick, Camden and Newark.  Marketing activities supported by this grant include development of a program web site, a Dear Colleague campaign directed at elite law and philosophy programs around the country, and targeted digital advertising.

Marketing Award Program


The SAS Marketing Award Program provides grants of up to $5000 for the creation of marketing initiatives in support of existing revenue-generating programs at SAS. Preference will be given to proposals supported by matching funds from their departments or other sources.

The Marketing Award program supports the creation and execution of integrated marketing communications plans, including:

  • Print advertising
    • Design and copywriting
    • Ad placement
  • Online marketing
    • Google AdWords
    • Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
    • Placement at higher education content aggregators
    • Banner ads and links
  • Public relations/events
  • Grassroots marketing campaigns at colleges and universities nationwide

Applicants should take note of the word count guidelines on the written form. Completed applications must be submitted electronically (MS Word or Adobe PDF) to the appropriate Department Chair for departmental review and then to Chris Scherer (cscherer@sas.rutgers.edu) for evaluation by the Dean's Office.
