Name: Crystal Molyneaux
It has been a long road with plenty of hard work, late nights, and hours away from my son because I had to study or work on homework. But it was worth it.
I was a Rutgers undergraduate before having my son. After I became a mom, I felt inspired me to go back. I knew it was necessary to fulfill my dreams, which in turn would enable me to be the best parent I could be.
Coming back to school with a toddler was no easy feat. I worked full-time. But with the help of my parents, Thomas and Marian Molyneaux, my son has been able to live a loving, nurturing, and fulfilling life.
I chose psychology as my major because I want to be a school psychologist. Children are our future, and I want to be available to listen and help them in any way I can, with a non-judgmental approach. I love the work I have already done with kids, including talking to them about their lives, schools, and future.
I feel overwhelmed with joy having finally been able to achieve my goal of a degree.
It has been a long road with plenty of hard work, late nights, and hours away from my son because I had to study, do a project, or finish homework. But it was worth it and I would not take a moment of it back. I am truly appreciative of the professors, administration, and peers that assisted me along the way. I also appreciate my son Brandon. With him, my life and my journey have been enhanced.
I have been accepted to the Rutgers Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology School PsyD. Program where I can learn from the best--professors and students--and apply my knowledge to the kids I will work with in the future and the young man I am raising today.
