Department of English Offers Online Help to Rutgers Students in Writing Intensive Courses Print E-mail

English Department Online Writing Lab Serves Students in Writing Intensive Courses

Image

The Rutgers University Online Writing Lab (RUOWL), created by the Writing Program in the Department of English, is an online tutoring resource designed to help students who are enrolled in a Writing Intensive course at Rutgers. Students can submit questions or portions of  work to the site, and online tutors will respond via email.
All you have to do to get started is go to the website:

http://ruowl.rutgers.edu/

Just click the “Get Started” or “Submit a Question” link and fill out the
online form.  Be sure to include your email address so that our tutors can
reach you with their responses.

Learn more about online tutoring at the RUOWL:

--Online tutoring is only for students in SAS Writing Intensive courses;
it is not for students in Expository Writing or other Writing Program
(01:355) courses.  The SAS Writing Intensive Course List can be found
online here:
http://sasundergrad.rutgers.edu/academics/requirements/degree/writing.html

--Our services are FREE.

--Online tutoring does not require students to sign up for any additional
e-credits (as they are required to do for face-to-face tutoring for
Writing Program courses).

--The RUOWL is designed to offer students advice and direction for
improving their work and guidance on how to improve as a writer; it is not
a proofreading or editing service.

--Students are encouraged to use the RUOWL as often as they like during
the semester, and we encourage students to get started soon on writing and
revising their papers.

Don’t feel like you are completely on your own when it comes to writing
your papers.  Visit our website at http://ruowl.rutgers.edu and see for
yourself what we offer.
