Giving to the Modern Greek Studies Program
THE MODERN GREEK STUDIES PROGRAM explores the language, literature, history, society, and culture of Greek-speaking people from the Byzantine period through contemporary times.
The Modern Greek Studies Program helps in offering an outstanding undergraduate curriculum on modern Greek language and civilization at Rutgers, and enables our high-achieving students to experience Greece and Cyprus in our programs overseas.
We invite you to make a gift to Rutgers’ Modern Greek Studies Program by supporting one or both of the following dedicated funds. Just click on a fund to make your secure online donation:
- Contributions to the The Modern Greek Studies Program Gift Fund Supports on campus courses, development of a distance learning program, student scholarships, guest speakers, and Hellenic cultural events.
- Contributions to the The Elytis Chair Fund Supports the Modern Greek Studies annual program and adds to a growing fund for the eventual establishment of an endowed chair.
In addition to the establishment of an endowed chair, our vision for the program’s future includes adding innovative cultural studies courses (religion, food, music and dance, folklore, ecology), deploying the minor program online, developing a Thessaloniki-based international service learning program, and forming a bilateral undergraduate exchange program with a partner university in Cyprus.
