Giving to the Department of Geography
GEOGRAPHY studies relationships—between humans and their environments, politics and culture, the country and the city—between where we are and where we’d like to be.
Geographers bring rigorous interdisciplinary analysis to bear on such research problems as hazards, snow cover, sustainable cities, climate change, and natural resource management that literally cover the globe from North America, Europe, South Asia, and Latin America to Africa.
We invite you to make a gift to the Geography Department Chair's Fund to help support the following initiatives:
- Student research
Support travel stipends and awards for outstanding student teaching, research, and classroom performance.
- Laboratory facilities
Support state-of-the-art instruction in computer-aided cartography and spatial analytical techniques, undergraduate internships, and students pursuing service learning opportunities.
- Conferences and guest speakers
Support engaging guest speakers and cutting-edge annual scholarly workshops.
Our vision for the future includes the establishment of new undergraduate scholarships and graduate fellowships for field research, an endowed professorship, and the continued expansion of top notch learning facilities.
