Executive Vice Dean
Jim Masschaele, Professor of History, is an accomplished scholar of medieval history with extensive leadership experience. He served six years as director of the Medieval Studies Program, three as undergraduate vice chair of the History Department, and three as department chair. As Executive Vice Dean, he is responsible under the Executive Dean for all academic programs. He leads strategic initiatives for the Office of the Executive Dean, oversees faculty recruitment, and is in charge of graduate education in the School of Arts and Sciences.
