The School of Arts and Sciences is the undergraduate liberal arts and sciences school of Rutgers University-New Brunswick.
The SAS has 35 academic departments ranging from the biological and physical sciences to the humanities, mathematics, and the social and behavioral sciences. The SAS has many centers and programs where scholars pursue ground-breaking research on the boundaries between and among departments and students have the opportunity to engage in specific area and interdisciplinary studies. Across our departments, centers, and programs, SAS offers more than 70 majors and more than 80 minors, providing multiple opportunities for students to explore and understand our increasingly diverse state and international world.
